Excerpt from program for First SCRID Conference (Southern California Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf), October 1993:

Sharon Neumann Solow.  What more need be said?

In our field, few names evoke such a positive response as that of Sharon Neumann Solow.  Her expertise runs across a myriad of specialties in sign language interpretation:  She is the author of the first sign language interpreter textbook, a lecturer across America and Europe, a TV personality (“Say It With Sign”), a performer, a consultant, a translator—and the list goes on and on.  But to her credit, and to the benefit of the Deaf and Hearing communities, Sharon continues to work as an interpreter. Her skills, knowledge, and sensitivity to both hearing and Deaf cultures have made her one of the most sought-after, respected interpreters in the nation …

Sharon Neumann Solow works with great joy as an interpreter, educator, consultant, author, and performer.  Her career, spanning 50 years, has taken her around the United States and to Canada, South America, Mexico, Europe, Scandinavia, New Zealand and Australia.
